Dog Park Hearing- Conservation Commission

The Parks Commission approved the plans for the dog park at the Public Hearing.
All present supported the plan, there were no voices of opposition.
The Parks Commission informed us the schedule is for Bidding to begin this fall, and construction to being Spring 2018.

The NEXT step is the Conservation Commission Meeting, Thursday September 21st at 6pm at the Fitchburg Airport Administration Building Conference Room, 567 Crawford St, Fitchburg, MA.
We'd like to ask our supporters to please attend and speak in support of the Dog Park to ensure we are approved =)

Fitchburg board howls approval for proposed new dog park!

"After years of discussion, planning and fundraising, the Board of Park Commissioners approved plans for a 0.8 acre dog park in Coolidge Park following a hearing Thursday night."
"... the project is expected to go out to bid this fall and construction would start in the spring, according to Recreation Director Nathan LaRose. Construction will be paid for through a grant and money fundraised by Friends of Fitchburg Dogs Inc., according to organization president Sam Squailia. Last year, the group secured an up to $250,000 grant from the Stanton Foundation and fundraised another $27,710 to use toward constructing and maintaining the park..."
